ESTA Useful Tips When Traveling To The United States

As an Australian resident, you qualify for the Visa Waiver Program for trips less than 90 days in length. And though you still must fill out the appropriate paperwork before leaving, it is a simple process, usually taking little more than a few minutes. Then, you can head over to the United States and check out the various offerings to be found in the vast northern continent.

When planning your itinerary, you will need to first consider the types of activities that you and the other members of your party can enjoy. Do you want to see ballet, theater, or a sporting event? If so, search for those that line up with your planned time off and see if you can find one or more to fit into your budget and schedule.

Some people are attracted to the states to visit the sunny beaches of Florida. In addition to beach activities, the state has several professional sports teams and venues throughout the state that host arts and entertainments specials year-round. If you are a Harley-Davidson aficionado, see if you can stop by Daytona Beach during Bike Week or Biketoberfest.

If you have children, you could spend part or all of your vacation at the theme park-rich area of eastern-central Florida. Decide before you go which parks you want to visit and see if you can get discount packaging with them. It may rain during the off-season when tickets are cheaper, but it clears up quickly. So, if you are there, stick around and have lunch. The rain will stop!

Heading up the eastern seaboard, you can stop by St. Augustine, Florida, which is the oldest city in the country established by Europeans and was once believed to be home to the Fountain of Youth.

In fact, if you are interested in learning more about the settling of the country by the early Europeans, you will discover multiple choices from there to Massachusetts. Historical museums, reenactments, monuments and so much more are available that you would need to narrow your search for those areas and events.

However, the Smithsonian Institution in Washington D.C. is an amazing place to visit even if you don’t want to see Civil War of the United States reenactments. The Smithsonian is home to many inventions and is a museum unlike any other.

On the west coast, which is a bit closer to your current location, you can also find theme parks in Southern California. Though not as many as dot central Florida, there are enough, and lots of other entertainment choices as well. Historical Hollywood and the film industry provide many opportunities to learn more about the development of motion pictures.

If you head to Oregon, Washington or any other state that has authorized the use of recreational marijuana, there are a few things you need to be aware of. First, though it is legal to use it, you can be charged with driving under the influence if you get behind the wheel. Second, make sure that you do not accidentally pack any in your luggage when headed home.

Colorado is one state that not only has recreational pot, but they also have a worldwide reputation for being one of the best places for snow skiing. If that sounds like fun to you, you may want to book a trip there. Make sure that you pack plenty of warm clothes, because the climate will be significantly different than home!

Traveling to the United States can be lots of fun. Make sure that you plan well and have a very good time, no matter what activities you decide to engage in.
